How I Almost Got Scammed On Facebook

So back to the topic.

Well, I almost got scammed on Facebook.

Apparently the scam was already known to me, but I just decided to play around with the scammer 😂.

Here's what happened.

It's started with a new inbox from a friend that I hadn't heard from in a very long time




So that's the screenshots of the conversation with the scammer.

How Did The Scammer Hijack My Friends Account?

There are two was I think it could have been 

1. Otp Phishing: So the scamme will add you up as a friend, then the scammer will tell you that you should please send back an Otp that will be sent to you from Facebook.

If you send the Otp, the scammer will have the Otp (one time pin) that Facebook sent to you for change of password 🔑.

The scammer then change your password 🔑

They will also change your Facebook linked phone number and email.

After that the scammer will proceed to target your friends, by impersonating you and most of your friends are sure to fall for anything the scammer tells them because they trust and think it's you.

2. Phishing link 🔗: This is another method scammers use to hijack people's Facebook account, and you must watch out.

Firstly they start a conversation with you and eventually send you a link to click on.

If you click this link, your Facebook password can be collected either by you enteing it yourself or their bot takes it automatically fro your browser saved passwords.


How To Avoid Getting Hacked And Scammed.

Firstly, your Otp will never be needed b someone so you shouldn't share it with anyone as Facebook will not request it from anyone else but you.

Secondly, never click link from misleading messages like "make money online or double your money".

Never send money to a friend online except you see them via video call 🤙.

That's it, I decided to share my experience as I almost got scammed and I suggest you follow all my advice so you don't get taken for a ride.
